Aside from his best known role as Willy Wonka in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", Wilder starred in several Mel Brooks films, including the 1968 film The Producers, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.  Brooks, 90, was one of many who took to Twitter on Monday to pay homage to his friend. “Gene Wilder-One of the truly great talents of our time. He blessed every film we did with his magic & he blessed me with his friendship,” the famed director wrote.
