Demi Lovato "This Has Been the Most Painful Week of My Life"

Demi Lovato and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama are heartbroken over the death of their beloved dog, Buddy.

On Friday, July 31, less than a week after her pup was killed by coyotes in Lovato's backyard, the "Heart Attack" singer took a moment to thank her Twitter and Instagram followers. In Buddy's honor, she posted a photo collage of his cutest moments, along with a heartfelt message about how she and Valderrama are coping.

"We can't thank you all enough," the Camp Rock alum wrote. "This has been the most painful week of my life, but because Wilmer and I had so much love and support, I've been able to stay strong and will continue to get through this difficult time."
She went on to say that the flood of condolences and well wishes was "unbelievable" and "means the world" to her and her longtime beau. "Love you all tons and ton," she wrote.

As previously reported, Lovato announced Buddy's death in an Instagram post on July 28. "He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident," she shared, "and though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle, so with that, together we are staying strong."

Of her treasured pet, she added: "Buddy was loved by so many people, and as small as he was, he made a huge impact in our lives. He truly was human in a way, and we were so blessed to have him in our lives...We will never forget our baby boy Buddy, and his gentle loving spirit will live on in our hearts forever."
