Unrecognizable appearance: Zach Galifianakis showed off his thinner frame and lightly bearded face at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday

In October, he debuted his thinner frame at the Birdman premiere in New York.
And it appeared, Zach Galifianakis continued to keep the extra pounds off when he helped open the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony during the introductory montage.

Gave up alcohol: 'I started walking a bunch and gave up booze. Booze, I was done with it. I couldn't wake up [like usual], so I stopped. I'm lucky that I could just stop, but boy I miss it'.

On Sunday, the 45-year-old actor skipped the red carpet and surprised many with his slimmed down transformation and lightly bearded face.

The Birdman star, who took home the SAG award for Best Ensemble Cast, looked like a sharp dressed man in a black tuxedo and color coordinated bow tie.

The father-of-one styled his ensemble with silver cuff links and a white pocket square.

While promoting his award-winning film Birdman, Zach hilariously joked about his weight loss with WGN. 

 '[I lost] about 30 ounces,' he said. 'I started walking a bunch and gave up booze. Booze, I was done with it. I couldn't wake up [like usual], so I stopped. I'm lucky that I could just stop, but boy I miss it.'

Adding: 'Being light is fun. I can go up two flights of steps now, and only need my inhaler twice.'

Although he did not share just how many pounds he shed, Men & Fitness believes Zach lost approximately 50 to 60 pounds.

'I was having a lot of vodka with sausage, delicious but bad for you,' he revealed during an appearance on Conan O'Brien's late night show in May 2013.
