Pit Bull Saves Boy, 8, from Bees

A pit bull this week was credited with rescuing an 8-year-old Oregon boy from a swarm of angry bees.
According to local news outlet KPTV, Jesse-Cole Shaver on Tuesday was playing with a group of children near a creek in Oregon City when one of the kids stepped on a beehive, prompting the insects to swarm into the air. Everyone fled, except for Jesse-Cole, who reportedly had difficulty getting to safety and was stung at least 24 times.
Fortunately, the little boy’s pit bull was quick to act.
"Hades saw me and came and she dragged me up to the grass," Jesse-Cole told KPTV. She let me crawl on her back and then took me to mom."
Netizens have since praised Hades’ quick thinking.
"Great dog!" declared one KPTV reader.
"That is one awesome pooch," said another.
Pit bulls get a bad rap, but many have been credited with saving humans from danger. Last year, for instance, a hero pit bull in Virginia reportedly took a bullet for her owner; another was credited with rescuing an Oklahoma family from a house fire.
